August was the end of a very busy summer for most of our Young Women. We celebrated by having an ice cream social at the Smith's house and were amazed that there were 16 Young Women in attendance!!! And there were even a few missing! We had a fun time getting reacquainted with each other. Our group is growing, and we, as leaders, are very happy about that. Last week Jenessa Fredde did a great Personal Progress project about modesty. She had a "Modest is Hottest" fashion show and most of the YW participated by modeling modest summer clothing, church dresses, & prom dresses. The younger achievement day girls were invited to attend and it was a fun and uplifting event. Thanks for all your hard work Jenessa, and thanks to the YW for helping her by being beautiful and modest models. Nicole Smith completed a Sprint Triathlon and surprised herself by finishing in 3rd place for the under 18 age group! She also tried out for and made the Sophomore Volleyball team at Lehi High School. Maika and Monica started their first year in high school, and a lot of the Beehives started 7th grade at Willow Creek Middle School! They all get to ride the bus together and are getting to know each other much better on these bus rides.
September will bring more activities that are fun and will also help to build their growing testimonies of the Savior and His Gospel. One of these, a YW Standards night, will be on September 29. The YW and their mothers are invited to join us as a panel of leaders answers questions that have been anonymously asked by the YW. We hope this night will be well attended and that important issues will be discussed. We love these girls and are so impressed by their love for each other, their parents and families, and for the Savior.
